Ubisoft has finally talked about the release of the new Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake. This game is expected to be out before April 2022. In September 2020, it was announced for the first time that the game is the complete renovation of the old acclaimed classic Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. However, after the release of the reveal trailer, many fans criticized the remake’s lackluster visual style and due to this, the game was delayed shortly again.
Ubisoft Pune, the studio located in India, has been tasked with remaking this title which is one of the most popular entries in the series ever, has announced that the reason behind delaying the game for the second time was to ensure receiving development time that will allow the team to “deliver a remake that feels fresh while remaining faithful to the original.”
At first, the company planned to release the game on PC, PS4, and Xbox One on Jan 21. Ubisoft would then delay the game to March 18th, attributing the COVID-19 pandemic as a reason for delaying the title. PoP is not the only title delayed in recent months due to the pandemic. Far Cry 6 and Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Quarantine are two other examples which are going to be delayed into 2021. This means they will be out on Apr 2022.
